The Egyptian Revolution of 2011, locally called January 25 Revolution, was a diverse movement of demonstrations, marches, plaza occupations, and riots. On 25 January 2011; Millions of protesters Came to Freedom Square (Tahrir) in Cairo to chant against their oppressive regime and demanded the overthrow of the regime of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. There were from a variety of socio-economic and religious backgrounds. Violent clashes between security forces and protesters resulted in at least 846 people killed and 100,000 injured.
