On June 24, 2012, thousands of New Yorkers gathered for the annual gay pride march making their way down Fifth Avenue towards the West Village to celebrate the gay community and the one-year anniversary marking the passage of same-sex marriage in New York. 2012’s cavalcade was led by Grand Marshalls Cyndi Lauper, Chris Salgardo, Phyllis Siegel, and Connie Kopelov.

The Battle of Sirte was the final battle of the Libyan civil war, beginning when the National Liberation Army attacked the last remnants of the Libyan army still loyal to Muammar Gaddafi in his hometown and designated capital of Sirte, on the Gulf of Sidra.( September-October  2011)
